Dual Connect Series:

Oticon Dual Connect Hearing Device - is a digital receiver-in-the-ear hearing device that is almost invisible. It is available in 14 different colors from basic to fashion oriented. There are three different models available from the most advanced digital processing on the market to the very advanced processing models.  All models have been built with processors to enhance speech in noise as well as in quiet. The Dual Connect series is oriented for use by experienced users of hearing aids. The following are features and benefits available in the Dual Connect series:

• Advanced Binaural Processing - which makes hearing in a noisy environment a much easier and more comfortable experience. It also restores spatial organization, allowing the user to more easily localize multiple sounds in a noisy environment.

• Binaural Synchronization - which coordinates the automatic processing between the two ears. This allows coordinated processing of sound between the ears.

• Binaural Coordination - which coordinates the manual functions of the hearing devices. For example, when one hearing devices is switched for telephone use, the other goes to a reduced volume state for more efficient telephone use.

• Binaural Digital Feedback Cancellation - is used to prevent the hearing device from whistling or squealing. However, this circuit prevents the DFC from reducing or eliminating wanted sounds like music.

• My Voice - is a feature the makes the users voice sound much more natural.

• Connectivity - is a feature that gives the user the ability, with an optional Streamer, to connect with other electronic audio devices such as TV, MP3, cell phone, home phone, computer and almost all other electronic audio devices. This allows the user to receive crisp, clear sound from the devices directly into his/her hearing devices.

• Bandwidth - is higher than many hearing devices on the market. they go all the way out to 8,000 to 10,000 Hz. It has been determined that these are important frequencies for localization of sound.

• Fitting Bands - are 6 to 10 depending upon the model of the device. The more the bands or channels of the hearing device, the more efficient the speech processing in noise. Oticon's research has also determined that any bands or channels beyond 10-12 provide little additional benefit to the user.

• Adaptive Directionality - means that the directional microphone patterns are automatically changing to optimize the desired speech. Two of the models use multiband and the other uses singleband. Multiband makes the directional microphones even more efficient for use in noisy environments.

• Noise management - means that the hearing devices are always listening for steady state noises (not speech) and reducing them for comfort. Two of the models have TriState noise management which means that the devices will actually reduce three separate steady state noises at the same time. The other model has a two state noise reduction system.

• Voice Alignment Compression/Clarity2 - is a computer processing rationale that optimizes speech whenever it is present. It is always working to make speech as clear as possible, no matter the environment. This is a processing rationale that is proprietary to Oticon.

• Digital Feedback Cancellation2 - This is a circuit designed to detect and remove the "whistling" or "squealing" heard in many hearing aids. This circuit is what allows a comfortable, open fitting for users with a mild to moderate hearing loss. It also allows the use of more amplification for more severe losses.

• Activity Analyzer - This is a form of data logging that the hearing professional can read after the hearing device has been in use for a short while to help make appropriate adjustments to maximize the performance of the hearing devices for the user.

• PhoneCoil - is a device in the hearing aid that will couple to a hearing aid compatible telephone, without an external device, to give the user clear telephone communications.

• Autophone - is a circuit that automatically detects a telephone receiver and switches the hearing device to the telephone mode.

Dual Mini Series:

Oticon Dual Mini Hearing Device - is a digital receiver-in-the-ear hearing device that is almost invisible. It is available in 14 different colors from basic to fashion oriented. There are three different models available that allow the user to adjust his cost by selecting levels of sophistication of the digital processing. All models have been built with processors to enhance speech in noise as well as in quiet with the subtle differences being the sophistication of speech processing in noise. The more active the lifestyle, the more sophisticated the processing recommended. The Dual Mini series is oriented for use by new users of hearing devices. The following are features and benefits available in the Dual Mini series:
